PAPA NOEL – A Feature Documentary 

Please welcome Producer/Director Mark Niedelson and his Documentary PAPA NOEL back to Louisiana. In Partnership with the Louisiana’s River Parishes Tourist Commission and The Festival of the Bonfires, we have made PAPA NOEL- The Legacy of the Levee Bonfires available to all of you for one week! It is available to view NOW on a Virtual Platform where we have the film available to our members, followers and friends. We have also arranged for a showing of the Film on Saturday December 9th at the Festival of the Bonfires starting at 12 noon. It will be followed up by a Live Q&A with the Director, Mark Niedelson. “Hello Louisiana, it is great to be back! It has been a longtime since I’ve returned. When I first experienced the Levee Bonfires along the Mississippi River outside of Baton Rouge I was awestruck by the warmth, friendliness and the hospitality here in this community. I returned later that year, did some research and decided to tell this story. Papa Noel follows the story of a small Louisiana community as they prepare for their unique holiday ritual, the Bonfire Festival. Long ago performed by their early ancestors this community gathers to show what they were once taught and now they teach. And so it goes on…..” – Mark Niedelson
