Veterans Memorial Mississippi River Bridge 5K Run/Walk

8:30 am – Start of Veterans Memorial Mississippi River Bridge 5K Run/Walk
ENTRY FEES: Payable to NORSI ( all entry fees are non refundable )
Open Division ( Ages 18-64 ): $25.00 by May 31st, $30.00 by July 31st, $35.00 by September 30th, $40.00 by October 30th.
Day of race ( November 5th ) $45.00
Senior Division ( Age 65-over ) or Youth Division ( Age 17-under ) $25.00 by September 30th, $30.00 by October 30th, $35.00 day of race
( * Proof of age for youth / seniors required at Packet Pickup )
Race Day Registration payable via Credit / Debit Card, Check, Cash ( no bills over $20.00 please )
PACKET PICKUP: ( T-Shirt, Race number Bib with timing chip affixed )
Pre-Race day: Thursday, November 3rd, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm hosted by Varsity Sports, 525 Harrison Avenue, New Orleans
Packet Pickup on the day of race at the race site opening at 7:00 am
Race Day Location / Parking details: Parking is available at the Welcome Center. Overflow parking at the Golden Grove Truck Stop, 935 Hwy 641, Gramercy. The truck stop is about a 1/3 – 1/2 mile walk to the race site. ( not too far a walk ) * Remember to LOCK your vehicle. Park on each side of the truck stop, please do not block any service or retail access.
Bus Transportation: Buses will shuttle from overflow lot to Welcome Center pre-race as needed. Bus transportation provided from Welcome Center to the Start Side ( on the West Bank ) 7:00 am to 8:00 am. Please arrive early to avoid long lines and any potential delay of start.
If parking on the West Bank ( Start side ) you are responsible for parking location and transportation back.

The Veterans Memorial Bridge is 3101 feet in length truss span and has a height of 165 feet above normal River level . Ground level west bank side to ground level east bank side distance is 1.5 miles. * The downhill section is longer than the uphill section
*Don’t believe that , the Race Director is lying. What goes up must come down equal distance

AWARDS and SCORING:
Event is Chip timed, your timing chip is affixed to reverse side of bib number. Do not fold or remove timing chip. Please make sure your bib number is visible during the event. Cross check name label on back side of bib to confirm name is yours.

Overall and Age group award divisions: 1st Overall Male and Female
Varsity Sports and Brooks Shoes will be awarding a gift card valued for purchase of a pair of Brooks Shoes to the 1st place overall male and female 5K finishers.
Age groups ( 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place ) Male and Female: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-over.
Race Walkers: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall Male and Female ( * Please check in at Race Walker table at the Welcome center to be eligible for scoring and awards for Race Walker division )
