The Spirit of Christmas
Step into a dazzling winter wonderland! Named after “Spirit,” one of the therapy horses at the Greater New Orleans Therapeutic Riding Center (GNOTRC), this family-friendly event is a holiday celebration like no other:
- A ¼-mile walking tour through 5 acres of majestic oak trees.
- Over 70 lighted frames, 50 Christmas trees, a sparkling lighted tunnel, and scenes from The Cajun Night Before Christmas by Trosclair.
- Fun activities, including:
- Pictures with Santa
- Santa’s Workshop
- Duck Races
- Christmas Caroling

Creole Christmas Tour
Add an enchanting historical touch to your visit!
This combo package includes a guided tour of the beautifully adorned Destrehan Plantation home. Learn about 128 years of Creole traditions, customs, and French influences as you walk through the elegantly decorated rooms that capture the spirit of a bygone Christmas era.

This event is a fundraiser for the Greater New Orleans Therapeutic Riding Center (GNOTRC), a nonprofit organization based in LaPlace, Louisiana. GNOTRC provides horse-assisted activities and therapeutic riding programs for individuals with disabilities, promoting increased mobility, confidence, and emotional well-being. Your participation helps sustain these life-changing services.
